May 30, 2025 (Toronto, Canada) – Today, composer, songwriter and producer, Kevin Krouglow - best known for his score to “Eat Wheaties” starring Tony Hale - makes his debut as electronic artist OTHEOSE with the release of his very first single "Sundown" off the upcoming full-length album Continental Drift. With its pulsating rhythms, haunting synths, and introspective lyrics, "Sundown” is a raw and poignant exploration of the relentless passage of time and the burning desire for fulfillment. Drawing from personal experiences and existential reflections, Kevin offers listeners a glimpse into the tumultuous landscape of dreams deferred and the fear of life slipping away.
"We go through life making sacrifices, hoping that one day, it will all pay off. But even success rarely unfolds as we envision, leaving us questioning what we’ve given up.” says Krouglow, “Sundown is in part about recognizing the value of the present and acknowledging that life happens now, not in some distant future we endlessly chase.”
As Kevin reflects on his life and career, he confronts the unsettling reality of stagnation and unmet aspirations. "Life starts flying by faster and faster as you get older," he muses. "You feel like you have plenty of time for everything when you're young, but as you grow older, you start to realize that may not be that case at all."
After more than a decade of writing music primarily for others, including contributions to over 20 films, 120 TV episodes, and more than 25 commercials, the release of this single and upcoming album marks a significant milestone for Krouglow. It represents a step towards pursuing some of his other deep passions and aspirations, marking a new and exciting chapter in his career as he explores his own creative voice and vision.
A true passion project, Kevin executed every aspect of the creative process from writing, recording, producing, mixing, and mastering to singing and performing every instrument on the album and single himself. Though it didn’t come without its challenges, the rewards of expressing himself and creating something so close to his heart have already been more than worth it.
“This is the first time in a really long time that I feel like I’ve written for myself without worrying about whether the tracks will work together, or whether anyone will listen to them – I just wrote what I felt, and it was a very liberating and fulfilling creative process.”
Kevin hopes that “Sundown” will leave listeners inspired to take a step towards the life they want to live, rather than waiting for it in the distant future, because a better time or opportunity may never come.
"Sundown" is now available on all major streaming platforms. Stay tuned for the release of OTHEOSE's debut album, Continental Drift, coming soon.
